do the dubs think they have the truth answer:yes.
the jw's honestly think they have the truth but we all know they dont because they have several doctrinal errors.
they dont think about it logicaly, if they had the truth wouldn't god help others become witnesses yes,and that means that the jw numbers would go up but they actualy go down.and not to mention all the ''end of the world dates'' that they have proficied.. .
Bottom line is Jesus is THE truth no one else, certainly not this Awful organisation tha lost in translation neatly describes.
are bringing out a heavy metal version of the kingdom songs......the album's title?......
"appetite for construction".
They have a few classic numbers lined up for the guys to play:-
144,000 red balloons
smooth criminals
Kumbya-watchtower my Lord
Livin on a lord's prayer
i had a frank discussion with my parents yesterday that ended up in the cul-de-sac of "how did the organisation start?
" i told them that all they need to know about the origins of the org are in the proclaimers book, of how chuck started his own religion, or how he got his ideas from the adventists and a lovely fellow called barbour and how chuck preached that christ had returned in 1874 and that the last days had started in 1799.. my parents were unwilling to accept this, so i said, "read your proclaimers book!
y'know what my mum's answer to that was?.
@blondie
Thanks for your research Barbera I was only commenting on what I had read, and as Ninja said the knights Templar are of a different order, I specified niether, only that he was a Freemason.
Masons don't like to disclose information easily they are a secretive lot so perhaps there will never be conclusive proof that Russel was a member of a paricular order.
The person I spoke to told me that is indeed the way 33rd degree freemasons want to die (I'm not sure if that's only Knights Templar).
However I think it's of more than passing interest that he made this request, the logo's on the publications only confirm to me that he had tacit knowledge of Freemasonry even if it cannot be proved he was a member.

@ diamondiiz- The watchtower and the masons book proves that the wts did indeed have masonic links. It's available as a pdf.
Also why don't you check out the manner of Russel's death in 1916:- he asked for his travelling companion to make him a roman toga to wear as he knew he was about to die. his faithful companion was puzzled and complied. I remember reading this account in wts publications and just thought that he must have been losing it a bit , but he was sharp as a tack, and a firm mason till the day he died.
The significance of that event is it's the way a 33rd degree high freemason wants to die, a fact i've had confirmed to me personally by a high ranking mason.
I do agree it's best NOT to be sidetracked and to stick to what's obvious without going down the conpiratorial accusation route.
quick note to say that gail and i are getting baptised as christians next sunday, 12pm, riverside gospel church..
congratulations to both you and Gail, Mark. I don't think it's really a subject to second guess anyone's choices on, but I note the above views with interest.
Looking back to when I dedicated my life to serve god it is clear to me now that the organisation WERE interposing in the place of God with the question they asked me to answer, however I certainly did not even mention the org in my prayer prior to my baptism and I did want to serve God, NOT the organisation post baptism. The organisation was only the structure for me as a dub to do this, rightly or wrongly.
I feel that it's only natural to examine and question everything one may have done as a JW in the light of the deception we have experienced and thus one's baptism is the logical place to start. I do feel that many of the R and F are genuine in their desire to serve and please god and show that by baptism.
What I would say is that it's the many beliefs of the JW organisation that are flawed or misguided not the people themselves, they are merely fodder, told what to believe. But the sincere ones I'm sure ,like myself got baptised for God not the WTS. It's only now we all realise the subtle initiation into the control of the org.
It all comes down to the fact that to some re-baptism is a need for them to fulfill and to others one they have already done in sincerity as a jw although part of a flawed set up. It's a person's heart that God is interested in and he knows who are his own.
And it can't be overlooked that to a person set free from wts mind control they might just have to read the Bible and use their conscience to decide for themselves whether it's for them.
